The $2 bill is almost never seen in circulation, and this rarely-seen example is a crisp new "star" note that replaced a defective note in the printing process. Only a fraction of $2 bills have an asterisk (star) in the prefix or suffix of the serial number and are prized by collectors. The back of these notes also feature the engraving of "The Declaration of Independence," giving this revolutionary bill its nickname as the "Independence" note.
